Virtual Colonoscopy (Preparation nr 1)

For this exam to be successful, the preparation and the elimination of any kind of solid waste present in the colon are very important.

If you suffer any kidney disease or heart failure, you will be given another preparation.

 

Go and buy the following drugs in the pharmacy :

PREPACOL®, NUTRIDRINK®, DULCOLAX SUPPO® and 2 vials of MICROPAQUE SCANNER®

 

2 days before the exam :

- suppress your every-day food and take only nutridrink, 3 to 4 vials a day according to your appetite.

- drink a lot of water

- do not drink orange juice, alcohol, sparkling beverages

- little coffee or tea

 

the day before the exam:

- continue taking nutridrink

- in the morning, dissolve the content of a micropaque scanner bottle with 350ml water (fill to the line traced on the vial)

- drink 1/3 of the content at each meal (morning, noon and evening)

- take a laxative prepacol in the following way :

around 4pm : the liquid vial with water

around 7pm : the 4 tablets with a glass of water

 

The morning of the exam

- take a vial of nutridrink

- take a Dulcolax suppository
