Hospitalization

Your Questions about your Hospitalization
from your arrival to when you get out of the Hospital

Your Admission

Opening hours

Admission Office Opening (hospital wing, entrance 121 bd de Waterloo) :
From 7.30 a.m to 5 p.m., from Monday to Friday.

Apart from these hours, ask at the Reception (policlinic building, entrance 121 bd de Waterloo). If your room is not ready yet when you arrive, a health care team will welcome you in the preadmission room and will take care of you.

 
The documents you have to show

You will be asked these documents, they are compulsory :
- ID or passeport;
- social identity card (card S.I.S);
- for the nationals of the CE : European Health Insurance Care.

These documents are only required for special cases:
- If hospital fees are refund by a specific organization : le réquisitoire ou le document de prise en charge;

- If you have a hospital assurance : a possible card or a form of the organization whose you are a affiliated member;

There are agreements between different insurance organizations and the Jules Bordet Institute. Enquire at your insurance company.
 

The down payment on hospital fees

You will be asked a down payment which is payable by electronic payment (Bancontact or credit card). Cash will be taken only during the week. It is renewable every 7 days. Different type of rooms’ rates are are in the appendix (available at the Reception).

You have to sign a statement of admission. It is a non exhaustive estimation of the cost of your hospitalization.

 

Your personnal items

For your comfort, we suggest you to get the cloth and the personnal items you will need :
- the toilet kit : comb, hairbrush, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, razor, mirror…
- linen : towel and facecloth
- pyjamas or nightdress (or nightshirt), dressing gown, sippers
- books, newspaper, crosswords,…

Are you undergoing treatment ? Bring your medicines with you and, inform the nurses when you arrive.
 

Your security

It is not advisable to keep valuables such as :
- jewelry, expensive watch,…
- a large sum of money, credit card,…
- CD player, cell phone, radio, laptop,…

For your security, the cashier takes the depositings from 8.30 a.m to 12.30 a.m (hospitalization wing level 0, corridor "Management") and the Admission takes the little valuables (wing H ground floor). An inventory has to be done when there is a deposit. You can not keep medium-size or large valuables such as laptop, handbag, suitcase,…

The Jules Bordet Institute accepts no responsability for loss, theft of articles or damages of your valuables that you would have keep in your room (even in your locked wardrobe) or with you.
 

The identification bracelet

At the time of your arrival, the Institute staff will give you an identification bracelet. You have to keep this bracelet all day during your stay. Even if you think it is disagreeable or binding, it aims to avoid identification mistakes during your hospitalization.
