Admission Requirements
Reservation of hospital room or bed
Your hospitalization is decided in agreement with your personal physician.
If you have not reserved your room yet :
You can either :
- Go during working hours to the Reception Desk for Pre-admission for Consultations on the 2nd floor of the Outpatient Clinic of the Bordet Institute, boulevard de Waterloo 121, 1000 Brussels or
- Phone the Office of Room Reservation (02/ 541.30.40)
If your room reservation has been confirmed and you have been informed of the day and check-in time of your admission :
- Go to the appointed time to the Office of Admissions

Documents requested by the Admissions Office :
Be ready to provide the following documents :
- Your identity card or passport
- The magnetic membership card or your health insurance (Mutuelle) or your social security card (SIS)
- For members of the European Union : the form E 112
- You may also need your agreement to have surgery - and for children under age - and an authorization for surgery signed by the parents
- If your hospital charges are covered by a particular insurance or organization or by your employer you will need an instruction by your employer/insurance certifying that medical expenses will be covered.
Deposit
A deposit is required upon admission (cash, cheque, Visa, Bancontact or Mister Cash).
Personal belongings to bring :
For your own comfort, we suggest to bring the following personal items :
- Comb and hairbrush
- Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, razor etc
- Several towels and washcloths
- Several pyjamas or nightgowns
- Bathrobe, slippers
- Books, magazines, crossword puzzles, knitting material, radio etc
