Magnetic Resonance Unit
Research
The research at the MRI unit is about the following fields:
- The non-invasive study of vascularisation and tumor metabolism;
- The study of the treatments’ effects, especially on healthy tissues and in particular on the cerebral tissue (spectroscopy);
- The clinical research on the optimal use of existing or new contrast products (especially for diagnosing lymph nodes invasion);
- The clinical applications of the MRI to breast and prostate pathology.
The research is carried out in cooperation with the manufacturer of our machines – Siemens – and with the pharmaceutical industry for the assessment of new contrast products.
It also means a cooperation with other teams within the scope of pluricentric studies.
