Clinical Haematology Department
Mission
The Clinical Haematology Department of the Jules Bordet Institute is mainly concerned by the treatment of malignant haemopathies, by complex haematological screening, and by the various techniques of hematopoietic stem cells transplantation.
The missions of the Institute are thus :
- to screen and to treat malignant haemopathies
- to isolate neutropenic patients in sterile chamber after chemotherapy or due to a medullar aplasia of other origin
- to participate in clinical research (EORTC, GELA, IFM…) in the treatment of malignant haemopathies
- to treat by means of hematopoietic stem cells transplant the haemopathies that need that therapeutic approach
- to participate in European infectious diseases protocols (EORTC)
Besides the clinical and the clinical research, our Department is really aware of its part in education: see heading “Teaching”.
