Nuclear Medicine Department

Mission

The major missions of the Nuclear Medicine department are:

- performance of high quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures;

- integrating diagnosis in a multidisciplinary patient oriented approach;

- translational and early clinical research projects;

- developpement of targeted radionuclide treatments;

- pre and postgraduate teaching in Nuclear Oncology.

The PET-CT unit is part of the Iris network of Brussels public hospitals.
 

3)  Radionuclide Therapy Unit : click here
  • Treatments of thyroid cancers with Iodine-131 and virtual visit of a metabolic chamber (6 pictures);
  • Sirspheres:
    - Treatment of malignant hepatic lesions with SIR-Spheres®
    - Information to the patients : Treatment: treatment with Y90- Microspheres in the fight against liver cancerous lesions;
  • Radioimmunotherapy (9oy-Zevalin);
  • Treatments with MIBG-1131;
  • Treatment of painful bone metastases with 153-Sm-HEDP (Quadramet®);
  • Treatment of some specific haematological diseases with 32-P colloidal.
