Mission

The Data Centre of Institut Jules Bordet has a triple mission :

 

1. To develop, maintain and manage the hospital Cancer Registry specific to the institution as well as to participate to the National Cancer Registry (with respect of the legal aspects related to the protection of personal life and with warranty of the that the collected data will be confidentially treated;

 

2. Développer les outils nécessaires à la gestion des données médicales et aministratives générées par la tenue de concertations multidisciplinaire en oncologie, gérer les données et les interactions avec le Registre hospitalier et la tumorothèque. (translation later)

3. To participate to clinical, laboratory and epidemiological conducted or centralised at Institut Jules Bordet (methodological and design aspects of the research, data collection, managing and entry as well as data analysis);

4. To develop and continuously update the web site of Institut Jules Bordet in order to provide, to the patients and their families primarily, a dynamic information tool but also for any other person interested in the activities of Institut Jules Bordet; the updates are done on a regular basis. L'unité a été créée en 2001. Ses activités de recherche bénéficient d'un soutien financier généreux des Amis de l'Institut Bordet ainsi que du Conseil Médical. Le Registre du Cancer reçoit un subside de la Fédération contre le Cancer. (translation later)

The activities of the Data Centre are assessed by a Management Committee including representatives from the Medical Direction, the Medical Council and Clinical Services.
