“Mining the Human Cancer Epigenome and Epitranscriptome: Opportunities for Personalized Medicine”
Jana JESCHKE, PhD
Head of Applied Cancer Epigenomics and Epitranscriptomics Group - FNRS Associate Professor, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Institute Jules Bordet (BE)
Dr. Jana Jeschke is an FNRS Associate Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium. She is the head of a new research group at Institute Jules Bordet that is focusing on the clinical value of epigenetic modifications, especially those occurring on RNA, in cancer. This is a very new and exciting research focus that takes full advantage of her unique research background combining expertise in both clinical epigenetics and the newly discovered field of RNA epigenetics. Her group is currently focusing on establishing new technologies for the systematic mapping of RNA modifications in human tumors and on developing bioinformatics tools for the analysis of epitranscriptome cancer maps.
The seminar will take place from 8.00AM to 9.00AM at Tagnon auditorium (OH Nord – Foyer – Route 2985).
