The Novel Treatment Unit welcomes patients who are participating in clinical trials conducted by the Clinical Trial Conduct Unit. These trials are carried out with patients from the Institute or from other institutions with the aim of developing new cancer treatment and offering them innovative treatment approaches.
A multidisciplinary team of investigating doctors, trial coordinators and nurses is responsible for patient selection and follow up.
The Novel Treatment Unit is a care unit dedicated exclusively to monitoring patients who participate in clinical trials, thereby guaranteeing care of the highest quality. Staff at the unit concentrate fully on administering the treatment, monitoring patients and side effects, ensuring patient well-being and managing protocol requirements.
The Novel Treatment Unit works in close cooperation with all the Institute's departments and in particular with the Clinical Trial Conduct Unit (CTCU).
